What is the industry standard on non-performing dots on an LCD screen?

CTX’s specifications allow for non-performing dots. But, if there is a group or cluster of some non-performing dots less than the allowable number, CTX will consider this depending on colors that are missing and the distance between the quantity of non-performing dots.  Also CTX will consider the location of the non-performing dots within a specific area.  Non-performing dot can take the form of either a light dot or and dark dot.  A dark dot will not have any color at all it will be black.  A light dot will have some color depending on the color of the background.

CTX has set a limit to the number of dot anomalies.  CTX has adopted this policy for non-performing dots to supplement the CTX limited warranty.

It is possible that any service replacement display may also have some non-performing dots.  This should be considered when requesting a warranty replacement or exchange.

CTX allows for 5 non-performing dots for 15”-17” LCDs.

CTX allows for 7 non-performing dots for 19” or above.
